Abstract
Den foreliggende oppfinnelsen vedrører videokoding/-dekoding, og beskriver en fremgangsmåte for å transformere til/fra transformkoeffisienter og residualpikseldata i bevegelige bilder ved et sett av semiortonormale basisvektorer. 5 Basisvektorene er avledet fra konvensjonelle DCT- eller KTL-matriser, men relakserer til en viss grad betingelsene for ortogonalitet, normlikhet og elementstørrelsebegrensning. På denne måten tilveiebringer den foreliggende oppfinnelsen forbedret kodingseffektivitet og lavere kompleksitet sammenlignet med tidligere, anvendte heltallstransformer.
