Abstract
Fremgangsmåte for å bestemme mengden vandring for et verktøy på en kabel og som er plassert i en brønn ved et oljefelt. Fremgangsmåten omfatter å bevege en vinsj ved overflaten av oljefeltet for å bevirke bevegelse av verktøyet under overflaten i brønnen. Vinsjen kan så stoppes mens verktøyet fortsatt er i brønnen, men ofte vil verktøyet fortsette å bevege seg, eller "vandre", i en viss tid etter at vinsjen er stanset. Etter at vinsjen er stanset, kan data som indikerer bevegelse av verktøyet registreres. Dataene kan så benyttes for å bestemme mengden vandring.
