Abstract
Foreliggende oppfinnelse vedrører det generelle problemet vedrørende påvisning med sonar eller med radar. Det gjelder spesielt den initiale påvisningen av et signal av interesse i en datastrøm tilsvarende signalet mottatt med slikt utstyr. Denne initiale påvisningen overføres til utstyr ansvarlig for å utføre sporingen av objektene av interesse som var gjenstanden for en påvisning. Fremgangsmåten ifølge oppfinnelsen anser at et signal av interesse er karakterisert ved en tilstandsmodell x(t) med verdier i begrenset gruppe {x1, ..., xN}, til hvilken det tilsvarer en begrenset {?1, ...,?N) av N verdier av observasjonsvariabelen ?, karakteristisk for dette signalet. For å påvise nærværet av et signal av interesse beregner fremgangsmåten samtidig verdien av et påvisningskriterium ?n(t) på to forskjellige måter: - som en funksjon av produktet av sannsynligheten Pn av tilstanden xn, og av forholdet av de betingede sannsynlighetene p1 og p0 av data y(t, ?n) i fraværet og i nærværet av et signal, - som en funksjon av produktet av en av N-verdiene av kriteriet som ble beregnet på det tidligere tidspunktet t-1, av sannsynligheten av overgang Pn,m mellom tilstanden xm for hvilken denne verdien ble beregnet på tidspunktet t-1 og den aktuelle tilstanden xn, og i forhold til de betingede sannsynlighetene p1 og p0 av data y(t, ?n) i fraværet og i nærværet av et signal, det største av de to beregnede verdiene er tildelt kriteriet av ?n(t) som deretter sammenlignes med en påvisningsterskel.
