Abstract
En mikrostyringsenhet eller en tilstandsmaskin som kontrollerer en lyslast ved bruk av en tidsgiverstruktur. Mikrostyringsenheten kan programmere tidsgiverstrukturen for å generere pulser der "gjennomsnitts"-frekvensen for en serie av pulser kan bli variert med en høyere oppløsning enn frekvensene for en enkelt puls.
