Abstract

Det er beskrevet systemer og fremgangsmåter for å fremvise volumdata på en vilkårlig tredimensjonal polygonal overflate. For hvert polygon i den polygonale overflaten blir det skapt en todimensjonal strukturflis og disse strukturfliser blir kombinert for å danne strukturatlaser. Hvert strukturatlas er allokert med en spesifikk mengde lager i en strukturhurtigbuffer. Hvert polygon i den polygonale overflaten kan bli skannekonvertert og de resulterende tekseller kan bli plassert i strukturhurtigbufferen. Vokseller som ikke krysser noe polygon i den polygonale overflaten behøver ikke bli skannekonvertert. Denne fremgangsmåte kan resultere i redusert bruk av strukturhurtigbuffer.
