Abstract

Det omtales en fremgangsmåte til gjennomføring av en reaksjon som kjennetegnes ved at karbondioksid kombineres med en alkalisk løsning basert på ammoniakk, for dannelse av ammonium-bikarbonater, hvilke bikarbonater ytterligere omsettes med en saltholdig løsning, hvorved det dannes produkter av alkalimetallbikarbonat og ammoniumklorid, og ammoniumkloridproduktet behandles videre under en dekomponering for å danne ammoniakk og saltsyre, og ammoniumkloridet returneres til det første trinnet for å danne nevnte alkaliske løsning med vann, mens alkalimetallbikrabonatet eventuelt videre dekomponeres til karbondioksid som returneres til fremgangsmåtens første trinn. Ifølge et annet aspekt, anvendes oppfinnelsen for behandling av saltvann (brine) som stammer fra et avsaltingsanlegg, for fjerning av karbondioksid fra forbrenningsgasser, så som relatert til kraftverk eller andre industrielle aktiviteter. Fortrinnsvis anvendes fremgangsmåten for fjerning av karbondioksid fra forbrenningsgasser og for avsalting av vann.There is disclosed a process for carrying out a reaction characterized by combining carbon dioxide with an alkaline solution based on ammonia to form ammonium bicarbonates, which are further reacted with a saline solution to form products of alkali metal bicarbonate and ammonium chloride and ammonium chloride is further treated under a decomposition to form ammonia and hydrochloric acid, and the ammonium chloride is returned to the first step to form said alkaline solution with water, while the alkali metal bicarbonate is optionally further decomposed to carbon dioxide returned to the first step of the process. According to another aspect, the invention is used for the treatment of brine (brine) derived from a desalination plant, for the removal of carbon dioxide from combustion gases, such as related to power plants or other industrial activities. Preferably, the process is used for removing carbon dioxide from combustion gases and for desalination of water.
