Abstract
Gener har blitt isolert fra stamme DC260, et medlem av Enterobacteriaceae-familien, som koder for geranylgeranylpyrofosfat (GGPP) syntetase (CrtE), fytoensyntase (CrtC), fytoendesaturase (CrtI), lykopencyklase (CrtY), (-karotenhydroksylase (CrtZ), og zeaxantinglukosyltransferase (CrtX) aktivitet. Genene og deres produkter er nyttig for omdannelsen av farnesylpyrofosfat til karotenoider. Vektorer som inneholder disse DNA-segmentene, vertceller som inneholder vektorene og fremgangsmåter for å produsere disse enzymene ved rekombinant DNA-teknologi i transformerte vertsorganismer er angitt.
