Abstract
SAMMENDRAG Ultralyd-testapparatur for polymermaterialer (f.eks. plastrør) omfatter et lavtabsorberende hylster som i det minste delvis omslutter en ultralyd-transduser, hvor da denne transduser sender ut en lavfrekvent, bredvinklet ultralydstråle med en smal båndbredde. I mer spesielt foretrukne konfigura-sjoner og fremgangsmåter vil denne apparatur kunne detektere defekter i polymerrør og spesielt da i sveise eller belastede soner av slike rør, hvor defekter mindre enn 4% av veggtykkelsen (opp til 4 tommer) vil kunne detekteres. Videre omtalt er konfigurasjoner og fremgangsmåter for ikke-destruktiv deteksjon av defekter som skriver seg på manglende sammensmelting på polymerrør.
