Abstract

In order to avoid as much as possible that the calculated level is affected by the dielectric constant of the gas over the liquid, the transmitter is arranged to transmit the microwave signal in a frequency band where the group velocities of the microwave signal in the propagation mode in the tube are, in the predetermined part range constant range, as much as possible regardless of the dielectric constant.
