Oppfinnelsen vedrører en støpt del med høy krypefasthet, særlig et sylinderhode eller et motorhus, som er dannet av en legering med den følgende sammensetning (vekt%): Si: 5-11 og foretrukket 6,5-7,5; Fe < 0,6 og foretrukket < 0,3; Mg: 0,15-0,6 og foretrukket 0,25-0,5; Cu: 0,3-1,5 og foretrukket 0,4-0,7; Ti: 0,05-0,25 og foretrukket 0,08-0,2; Zr: 0,05-0,25 og foretrukket 0,12-0,18; Mn < 0,4 og foretrukket 0,1-0,3; Zn < 0,3 og foretrukket < 0,1; Ni < 0,4 og foretrukket < 0,1; og andre elementer < 0,10 hver og 0,3 totalt, idet resten er aluminium.
