Abstract

Kompensasjon av sonarekkodata, særlig fra sjøbunnsmålinger, som er lagret elektronisk i digitalt format, med hensyn til forvrengninger og skyggebilder som har blitt introdusert av delvis gjennomtrengning av den utsendte sonarpuls i sjøbunnens sediment. Kompensering bevirkes ved å resample slike ekkodata etter bunnplukking, for derved å forbedre resultatene fra påfølgende klassifisering av sedimenttyper ved bruk av slike ekkodata.Compensation of sonar coding data, especially from seabed measurements, stored electronically in digital format, with respect to distortions and shadow images that have been introduced by partial penetration of the transmitted sonar pulse into the seabed sediment. Compensation is effected by resampling such echo data after bottom picking, thereby improving the results of subsequent classification of sediment types using such echo data.
