Abstract

En anordningsforvaltermodul (11) særlig beregnet på bruk i en mottager/dekoder (2020) for et digitalt fjernsynskringkastingssystem, hvor de mottatte signaler overføres gjennom en mottager til mottager/dekoderen og deretter til et fjernsynsapparat. Modulen (11) kobler de innkommende meldinger fra portenheter (10) til brukerprogrammoduler (12). En hukommelse (13) forbundet med enheten (11) har et bufferområde (13-B) og et FIFU-område (13-F) som styres av henholdsvis en bufferstyring/håndterer (14-B) og en FIFU-styring/håndterer (14-F). En innkommende melding kan føres inn i en buffer og gjenvinnes fra bufferen ved hjelp av det brukerprogram den angår, idet to forskjellige arbeidsmodi er tilgjengelig for dette. Alternativt kan en sådan melding føres inn i en FIFU, idet FIFU-håndtereren virker som et lavnivåprogram som overfører meldingen til et brukerprogram på høyt nivå uten at brukerprogrammet må foreta seg noe og uten å måtte vente på at hele meldingen er blitt mottatt. Meldinger som passerer gjennom FIFLTen kan kombineres til en MPEG-signalstrøm.
