Abstract
En abonnentterminal for kommunikasjon over en trådløs forbindelse med en sentral terminal i et trådløst telekommunikasjonssystem omfatter en første signalbehandlende enhet (110) knyttet til en antenne (100) for å sende og motta signaler over den trådløse forbindelse, en andre signalbehandlende enhet (130) fjernt fra den første (110) og knyttet til en telekommunikasjonsutstyrsenhet (150) for å overføre signaler mellom tele- kommunikasjonsutstyrsenheten og den første signalbehandlende enhet (110), og et forbindelsesmedium (120) som forbinder nevnte første og andre signalbehandlende enheter med hverandre. Kalibreringslogikk anordnet i den andre signalbehandlende enhet (130) er innrettet for på forbindelsesmediet (120) å frembringe styresignaler som brukes for å styre kretser i den første signalbehandlende enhet (110), for derved å få signaler til å bli overført på forbindelsesmediet fra den første til den andre signalbehand- lende enhet, slik at det blir mulig for kalibreringslogikken å fastlegge et signaltap som innføres av forbindelsesmediet (120). Kompensasjonskretsutstyr drives da av kalibrer- ingslogikken for å kompensere for signaltapet fastlagt av kalibreringslogikken. Derved kan den mengde kretsutstyr som fordres i den første signalbehandlende enhet knyttet til antennen reduseres, slik at enhetens kompleksitet reduseres, mens det fortsatt er mulig å bestemme den kompensasjon som fordres for å kompensere for tap i mottatte og sendte signaler, som stammer fra at disse signaler sendes over forbindelsesmediet.
