Description
Fremgangsmåte for å holde overflaten av en metallsmelte på konstant høyde.
Ved overføring av en metallsmelte fra
en smelte- eller varmeholder-ovn til en
mellombeholder eller til en renne, som
føres til et strengstøpeanlegg, er det av
stor betydning for kvaliteten av støpe-produktene at det opprettholdes konstant
metallstrøm og følgelig en konstant over-flatehøyde for metallet i mellombeholde-ren henholdsvis i rennen.
Det er kjent forskjellige fremgangsmåter for å holde overflatehøyden konstant i en metallsmelte i en mellombeholder henhv. i en renne, f. eks. ved hjelp av
flottører eller dykkeelektroder som styrer
utstrømningen av metall fra forrådsbe-holderen, f. eks. ved vipping av denne. Det
er også kjent fremgangsmåter for å holde
metalloverflaten konstant i en strengstøpe-kokille.
Foreliggende oppfinnelse angår en
fremgangsmåte for å holde overflaten av
en metallsmelte i en renne eller et mellom-kar som fører til et strengstøpeanlegg, på
konstant høyde ved å måle overflatehøy-den og regulere metalltilførslen etter den
oppnådde måleverdi, og det særegne ved
fremgangsmåten i henhold til oppfinnelsen er at kapasiteten som oppstår mellom
en elektrisk ledende plate, som er anordnet horisontalt over og i avstand fra metallspeilet, og overflaten av metallsmelten
måles, og metalltilførslen reguleres på
grunnlag av denne måling for å holde metalloverflaten på konstant høyde.
Reguleringen kan foregå manuelt, men
foretas fortrinnsvis automatisk.
En utførelsesform for en anordning for utførelse av fremgangsmåten i henhold til oppfinnelsen går ut på at en pla-tekondensator utgjør et ledd i en veksel-strøm-målebro som på i og for seg kjent måte tilføres strøm fra en høyfrekvens-vekselstrømkilde og er forbundet med en reguleringsanordning for metalltilførslen over en forsterker og styreanordning. Metallsmelten, henholdsvis hele støpeanord-ningen, samt målebroen er fortrinnsvis jordet.
Fremgangsmåten i henhold til oppfinnelsen kan brukes for alle metaller, altså også for jern-metaller, tross deres høye smeltetemperatur. Den er imidler-tid først og fremst bestemt for smelter av ikke-jern-metaller, spesielt for smelter av aluminium, aluminiumlegeringer, magne-sium og magnesiumlegeringer.
Det skal nå beskrives et utførelsesek-sempel som illustrerer fremgangsmåten i henhold til oppfinnelsen. I et strengstøpe-anlegg for aluminium skal høyden av overflaten av metallsmelten i rennen mellom forrådsovnen, d.v.s. smelte- eller varmeholder-ovnen, og støpebegeret måles og ut fra målingene skal vippingen av smelte-eller varmeholderovnen styres. Fig. 1 viser i sideriss den ende av rennen som ligger nærmest støpeanordnin-gen, under utelatelse av det forreste støpe-beger.
Fig. 2 viser det samme i grunnriss.
I fig. 1 er forbindelsen til måle- og styreanordningen vist skjematisk.
Rennen 1 som består av støpejern har ved A-A en lysbredde på 6,5 cm, en dybde på 5 cm og en veggtykkelse på 0,8—1 cm. I en høyde på ca. 1 cm over rennekanten ved rennens forgrening er det påsatt en trekantet måleplate 2 som består av en ca. 1 mm tykk jernplate og hvis underside har et flateinnhold på 180 cma. Støpe-begeret er betegnet 3. Nedrenningshastig-heten for strengen i strengstøpekokillen 4 blir holdt konstant ved hjelp av hvilken som helst reguleringsanordning. Slike regu-leringsanordninger er kjent i stort antall. Den kondensator som dannes av måleplaten 2 og overflaten 5 av metallsmelten i rennen, er et ledd i en vekselstrøm-må-lebro 6 hvor endringene i kapasiteten på grunn av variasjonene i metalloverflatens høyde blir målt. Målebroen er tilknyttet en høyfrekvens-vekselstrømkilde 7. Støpean-ordningen og dermed metallsmelten på den ene side og målebroen på den annen side, er jordet. Den strøm som skyldes endringene i kapasitet i målebroen blir for-sterket i forsterkeren 8 og i styreanordningen 9 omdannet til styrepulser, som på-virker vippeanordningen 10 for varmeholder-ovnen. Den spenning som brukes er ca. 4—6 V, og den strømstyrke som flyter gjennom målebroen er bare ca. 2,5 milli-amp. Måleapparatet kan innstilles slik at en høydeforskjell for metalloverf laten på 10 mm krever hele skalaområdet. Høyden av metalloverflaten kan følgelig holdes konstant med en nøyaktighet på ± 1 mm, ja enndog på ± 0,5 mm.
Måleplaten kan være utført av et vil-kårlig material med tilstrekkelig elektrisk ledningsevne. Det er også mulig å bruke en keramikkplate med pådampet metall. Størrelsen av platen retter seg etter av-standen fra metiallsmelten. Kapasitets-endringen på grunn av variasjoner i me-tallhøyden skal utgjøre ca. 3—5 pikofarad (3—5 x IO-12 farad). Frekvensen for den høyfrekvensstrøm som brukes kan ligge i området mellom 1 og 500 kp.

- Fremgangsmåte for å holde overflaten av en metallsmelte i en renne eller et mel-lomkar, som fører til et strengstøpeanlegg, på konstant høyde ved å måle overflate-høyden og regulere metalltilførslen etter den oppnådde måleverdi, karakterisert ved at kapasiteten som oppstår mellom en elektrisk ledende plate, som er anordnet horisontalt over og i avstand fra metallspeilet, og overflaten av metallsmelten måles og metalltilførslen reguleres på grunnlag av denne måling for å holde metalloverflaten på konstant høyde.
