Description
Oppfinnelsen vedrører impregnering av murverk hvis overflate reagerer nøytralt eller svakt surt, eller hvis alkalitet er nedsatt på grunn av omgivelsene.
I norsk patent nr. 134.049 omtales impregnerings-midler for murverk på basis av oppløsninger av alkyltrialkoksysilaner eller deres kondensasjonsprodukter i alkohol eller hydrokarboner. Inn under de materialer som kan behandles, faller for så vidt alle uorganiske materialer som har en porøs overflate, i hvilken det befinner seg hydroksylgruppe-holdige forbindelser som kan knytte til seg Si-O-bindinger.
Som eksempler kan nevnes betongpuss, kalksand-sten og teglsten.
For oppnåelse av den ønskede impregnering og dermed forbundne hydrofobering er det nødvendig med hydro-
lyse av silanets alkoksygrupper, hvortil normalt fuktigheten i det behandlede materiale og luften er tilstrekkelig. Da videre den overveiende del av det murverk som skal behandles, reagerer mer eller mindre alkalisk, fullføres hydrolysen på tilstrekkelig kort tid. De nevnte bygningsmaterialer har vanligvis også tilstrekkelig med hydroksylgrupper som kan tjene som angrepspunkter for silanmolekylenes alkoksygrupper.
Den i det norske patent omtalte framgangsmåte fører imidlertid ikke til det ønskede resultat når overflaten av murverket som skal behandles, ikke muliggjør en hurtig hydrolyse av silanets alkoksygrupper, eller når overflaten ikke har tilstrekkelig med hydroksylgrupper, hvortil silan-molekylene kan forankre seg. Disse ugunstige egenskaper har mange bygningsstoffer fra naturens hånd, som f.eks. mange typer sandsten, som,har en nøytralt reagerende overflate,
eller murverk hvis overflate er blitt nøytralisert av vind og vær eller endog viser en svakt sur reaksjon.
For impregnering av slike overflater er det nå
- til komplettering av fremgangsmåten ifølge det norske patent - funnet at 1-3 0 vekt% av silankomponenten bør utgjøres av alkyltrialkoksysilaner som er substituert med en aminogruppe i den alkylgruppe som er knyttet direkte til silisiumatomet.
De substituerte silaner påvirker kondensasjonen av de usubstituerte på katalytisk måte, men lar seg ikke anvende alene som impregneringsmiddel for det nevnte formål.
Mengden av det aminosubstituerte silan retter seg etter de fysikalske egenskaper, spesielt sugeevnen, av substratet som skal behandles.
Aminpgruppen kan igjen være substituert, for-utsatt at den samlede substituerte aminogruppe stadig reagerer basisk. Den til Si-atomet knyttede alkylgruppe har fortrinns-vis 3-6 C-atomer. Eksempler på slike forbindelser er: (B-amino-a-metyletyltrietoksysilan, Y-aminopropyltrietoksysilan, 6-aminobutyltrimetoksysilan, cj-aminoheksyltrietoksy-silan, Y-aminopropyltrietoksysilan, N,N-dimetyl-y-aminopropyltrietoksysilan, N-y-aminopropyl-6-aminobutyltrietoksysilan, N-j3-aminoetyl-Y-aminopropyltrietoksysilan.
De naturlige bygningsstoffer eller materialer som reagerer nøytralt eller svakt surt og kan behandles med impregneringsmidlet ifølge oppfinnelsen, omfatter sandsten, grani-tt.v mergel og skifer.
Virkningen av impregneringsmidlet ifølge oppfinnelsen fremgår av de følgende eksempler. Av hensyn til sammenlignbarheten er samtlige anvendte oppløsninger innstilt på 40% virksomt stoff.
E ksempel 1
Betongprismer (grunnflate 10 x 10 cm, høyde 3 cm, vekt ca. 600 g) av kvalitet B 300 ifølge DIN 1045 ble ved lengere opphold i CC^-atmosfære sterkt karbonatisert på overflaten. De ble så lagret under 10 cm vannsøyle, dels i ubehandlet tilstand (I), dels etter behandling med en 40%-ig alkoholisk oppløsning av butyltrimetoksysilan (II), dels etter behandling med en oppløsning som inneholdt 35% butyltrimetoksysilan og 5% Y_aminopropyltrietoksysilan i etanol (III) (alle prosentangivelser er vekt%).
Det ble opptatt følgende vannmengder(i vekt%, referert til stenens tørrvekt), idet det hver gang er angitt en series minimums- og maksimums-verdi.
Etter tre ukers opphold i luften, etter at stenen igjen hadde oppnådd sin utgangsvekt, ble vannbehand-lingen gjentatt, idet det fremkom følgende vektsøkninger:
Eksempel 2
Det ble behandlet stykker av en sandsten av
helt nøytral reaksjon (Provenienz A, størrelse ca.
(7,5x4x2) cm 3, vekt ca. 160 g). Mens rekken IV forble ubehandlet, ble rekkene V og VI impregnert på følgende måte med etanoliske oppløsninger:
V: 40%-ig av butyltrimetoksysilan
VI: 35%-ig butyltrimetoksysilan og 5%-ig av Y-amino-propyltrietoksys ilan.
Ved hjelp av målinger av inntrengningstid av en vanndråpe lar det seg lett vise at begge impregneringer hydrofoberte stenen. Mens den ubehandlede sandstenoverflate oppsuget en vanndråpe iløpet av 22 minutter, varte oppsugningen ved begge impregnerte overflater lenger enn 60 minutter (av-brudd av iakttagelsen).
Ved hjelp av vesentlige hårdere forsøksbetingel-ser (vannlagring under 10 cm vannsøyle) tydeliggjøres for-skjellen mellom de to impregneringer. Den opptatte vannmengde i vekt%, referert til stenens tørrvekt, utgjorde:
De angitte verdier er hver gang middelverdier av flere forsøksrekker.
Eksempel 3
På sandsten av Provenienz B ble det undersøkt en ytterligere impregneringsoppløsning av sammensetning: VII: 35% butyltrimetoksysilan + 5% (3-aminopropyl
trietoksysilan i etanol.
Ved vannlagring av disse stener under 10 cm vannsøyle ble det registrert følgende vektsøkninger:

- Impregneringsmiddel for murverk, på basis av alkohol- eller bensinoppløsninger av alkyltrialkoksysilaner eller deres kondensasjonsprodukter, karakterisert ved at 1-30 vekt% av silankomponenten utgjøres av alkyltrialkoksysilaner som er substituert med en aminogruppe i den alkylgruppe som er knyttet direkte til silisiumatomet.
