Description
Fremgangsmåte til markering av oljeholdige og oljeaktige trekonserveringsmidler, som for eksempel tjæreolje, oppløsninger av fungicide og insekticide bestanddeler i mineraloljer eller oljeaktige klorkullvannstoff-forbindelser, særlig til kvalitativ påvisning av den forbrukte mengde oljeholdig og oljeaktig trekonserveringsmiddel i treverk.
Til å tøedømme den insekticide og fungicide virkning av treimpregneringer er
det viktig å påvise midlene 'kvalitativt og
å fastlegge mengdene av disse i treverk
kvantitativt. Dette er ved impregnering
med de fluorholdige saltblandinger, som
blandt annet brukes i bygningsindustrien,
mulig å foreta på meget enkel måte ad
kjemisk vei kvalitativt og kvantitativt.
Disse bestemmelser kan også foretas flere
år etter behandlingen under hensyntagen
til de .tap som erfaringsmessig inntrer, noe
som er særlig viktig for å bestemme hvorvidt impregneringen ble gjennomført på
ordentlig måte.
Men der hvor treverk er blitt behand-let med oljeholdige eller oljeaktige kon-serveringsmidler, byr bestemmelse ad kjemisk vei av konserveringsbehandlingens
sopphindrende og insekthindrende virkning på store vanskeligheter og krever
meget arbeide. I disse impregneringsmidler blir det vanligvis anvendt et stort antall kjemisk forskjellig aktivstoffer, som
må bestemmes enkeltvis etter art og mengde. Mange av disse aktivstoffer inneholder
riktignok klor, men en bestemmelse av
klorinnholdet i treverk tillater ingen slut-ninger om konserveringsvirkningen, når
man ikke vet i hvilke forbindelser klor fo-religger. De forskjellige stoffer viser tyde-lig forskjell i deres aktivitet, og i enkelte
tilfelle er som bekjent ved i og for seg full-stendig like stoffer også den steriske kon-
figurasjon av avgjørende betydning for den biologiske aktivitet. Det er følgelig mer get ønskelig å markere oljeholdige <p>g oljeaktige trekonserveringspreparater alt etter den sopphindrende og insekticide aktivitet som er fastlagt ved disse ved biologiske for-søk, så at man ved en lett gjennomførbar, bestemmelse i treverk kan fastlegge hvorvidt det overhodet har foregått noen, behandling, og hvorvidt denne ble. gjennom-ført fagmessig med det nødven,dige,^for-bruk av konserveringsmiddel. Hertil er det hittil ikke kjent noen tilfredsstilende,, fremgangsmåte...'..'.r....'.
Man har riktignok allerede foreslått ..å. tilsette små mengder naftoler tU trekdn-' serveringsmidler som inneholder .klorerte fenoler som aktive bestanddeler, så at man ved behandling med et diazoniumsahVkan bestemme inntrengningsdybden for impregneringsmidlet, men derved er det bare mulig å foreta en kvalitativ påvisning. Utr over dette kan det ikke gjennomføres far-gereaksjoner på mørkt treverk, likesom dette også faller bort når det dreier seg om fargende impregneringsmidler.
Man har også overveiet en markering av konserveringsmidlene med svakt ra-dioaktive stoffer, men en slik løsning sy-nes av hygieniske årsaker betenkelig på grunn av den vanskelige bedømmelse av faremomentene for mennesker og nytte-dyr, særlig ved uforutsett anriking av mar-keringsmidler.
Et stoff som kan brukes til kjemisk markering, må ha en lang rekke viktige egenskaper,- nemlig: Tilstrekkelig oppløselighet i de oljeholdige og oljeaktige beskyttelsesmid-ler, rask og god fiksering i treverket ved tilstrekkelig bestandighet mot utluting og -avdunsting, lett påvisning i .treverk, helst med en spesifikk kolorimetrisk metode med høy ømfindtlighet, hvorved en lav til-setningsmengde i det middel som skal markeres, og analyse med små treprø-ver muliggjøres, kjemisk indifferens overfor oljen og de aktivstoffer som er oppløst i denne, liten eller ingen egenfarge, det angjeldende stoff må ikke inne-holdes i de råstoffer som opparbeides, og heller ikke bringes inn i midlene under disses fremstilling og opparbei-delse.
Dette store antall krav er vel årsaken til at man hittil ikke har kunnet foreslå noen brukbare stoffer.
Ifølge oppfinnelsen har man funnet at det under de organiske metallforbindelser befinner seg egnete stoffer til markering av trekonserveringspreparater. Med særlig fordel bruker man oljeoppløselige kadmiumforbindelser, særlig kadmiumsalter av talloljefettsyrer eller av naftensyrer. Kad-miumforbindelsene trenger godt inn i treverket sammen med impregneringsmidlet og blir raskt fiksert i treet.
Den kvalitative påvisning av kadmium er lett å gjennomføre ved hjelp av en kolorimetrisk metode etter kort tids ek-straksjon av trespon på byggestedet; den kvantitative bestemmelse kan likeledes lett gjennomføres kolorimetrisk i labora-toriet etter oppslutning av en treprøve.
Fordi kadmiumnaftenater og kadmi-umtallater ikke har noen innvirkning på tørkeegenskapene for tørkende oljer, kan de også brukes som markeringsstoff i film-dannende bestrykningsmidler med tre-konserverende virkning.
Det er kjent at kadmiumsalter har fungicid virkning og derfor vil kunne an-
vendes for treimpregnering. Man har imid-lertid tidligere ikke tilsatt kadmiumsalter til oljeholdige preparater og særlig ikke som markeringsstoff, slik som det er foreslått heri.
Et oljeholdig eller oljeaktig trebeskyt-telsesmiddel, hvori det kan anvendes kadmiumforbindelser, kan for eksempel være tjæreolje, oppløsninger av fungicide og insekticide bestanddeler i mineraloljer eller oljeaktige klorkullvannstofforbindelser. Et markerende trekonserveringsmiddel ifølge oppfinnelsen kan for eksempel ha følgende sammensetning: 40—50 vektsdeler løsningsmiddel, for-trinsvis mineralolje. 40—50 vektsdeler monoklornaftalin. 3— 6 vektsdeler pentaklorfenol. 1— 2 vektsdeler hexaklorcyklohexan. 0,25 vektsdeler kadmiumnaftenat med et kadmiuminnhold på 20 pst.
Claims (3)
1. Fremgangsmåte til markering av oljeholdige og oljeaktige trekonserveringsmidler, som for eksempel tjæreolje, oppløs-ninger av fungicide og insekticide bestanddeler i mineraloljer eller oljeaktige klorkullvannstofforbindelser, særlig til kvalitativ påvisning og til bestemmelse av den forbrukte mengde oljeholdig og oljeaktig trekonserveringsmiddel i treverk, karakterisert ved samtidig anvendelse av oljeoppløselige kadmiumforbindelser som tilsetningsstoffer til de oljeholdige og oljeaktige trekonserveringsstoffer.
2. Fremgangsmåte i samsvar med på-stand 1, karakterisert ved at sal-ter av talloljefettsyrer eller av naftensyrer brukes som oljeoppløselige kadmiumforbindelser.
3. Fremgangsmåte i samsvar med på-standene 1 og 2, karakterisert ved den fortrinsvise anvendelse av tilsetnings-stoffene i slike mengder at det trekonserveringsmiddel som skal markeres, inneholder omtrent 0,05 vektsprosent kadmium (heregnet som metall).
