The remineralizing effect of water-soluble inorganic and organic phosphates on tooth enamel is known per se. Dental care agents, such as toothpaste and mouthwash, have also been proposed, which contain a combination of water-soluble inorganic phosphates and water-soluble fluorine compounds, and which have been proposed for use as caries preventive agents. The excellent anti-caries effect of the T combination according to the invention of. water-soluble inorganic phosphates, water-soluble organic phosphates and water-soluble fluorine compounds and their superiority in relation to combinations that correspond to the state of the art, will be apparent from the animal research mentioned below.

Grunnresepten har folgende sammensetning: The basic recipe has the following composition:

The weight equalization by adding the different active substances was achieved by changing the water content.

After the experiments were finished, the animals were killed and their teeth examined. The carious lesions. which were observed on the animals' teeth were graded A, B, C. and D according to their ■. strength. Su is the sum of the lesion degrees, x is the calculated average value.

From the animal experiments cited, there is thus one clearly superior caries protective effect in the combination of active substances proposed according to the invention, compared to the known compositions.

The effect of these dental care agents, especially their cleaning ability and thus their caries-prophylactic effect, can be increased further if enzymes are additionally added to these agents. The enzymes will serve to break down food residues that may be left in the teeth and mouth area, thus ensuring a complete cleaning. Proteolytic enzymes, which break down egg whites, are particularly suitable, although it is also appropriate to use carbohydrases, especially amylases, which break down carbohydrates, and lipases, which break down fats, in the dental care products according to the invention. It would thus be particularly appropriate to use mixtures of these enzymes, e.g. as they exist in pancreatin.

Til disse horer foruten det ovennevnte pankreatin også pepsin, trypsin, chymotrypsih,. amylase og lipase av pankreas-kjertler samt de vegetabilske enzymer papain,.; bromelin,", f icin, Enzymes with proteolytic, amylolytic and/or lipolytic activity, which can be used within the framework of the present invention, are essentially all enzymes known to date, regardless of whether their use in dental care products is new or known per se, such as .eg, enzymes of animal or vegetable origin. In addition to the above-mentioned pancreatin, these also include pepsin, trypsin, chymotrypsin, amylase and lipase of pancreatic glands as well as the vegetable enzymes papain, bromelain, ficin,

a-amylase av malt og lipase av ricinusbonner. α-amylase from malt and lipase from castor beans.

Egnede muggsopper er f.eks. muggsopper av arten Candida, Saccharo-myces, Aspergillus, som A.niger, A.oryzae, A. flavus, A.usamii, A.inuii, A.awamori, A.aureus, A.tamarii, A.wentii og A.terri-cola, videre sopp av arten Alternaria, Rhizopus, Mucor, Monilia, Gliocladium, Neurospora, Trichoderma eller Penicillium. Furthermore, "enzyme preparations" which can be extracted by cultivating microorganisms such as molds or bacteria have proven to be appropriate in dental care products according to the present invention. Suitable molds are e.g. molds of the species Candida, Saccharo-myces, Aspergillus, such as A.niger, A.oryzae, A.flavus, A.usamii, A.inuii, A.awamori, A.aureus, A.tamarii, A.wentii and A. terri-cola, further fungi of the species Alternaria, Rhizopus, Mucor, Monilia, Gliocladium, Neurospora, Trichoderma or Penicillium. As enzyme-producing bacterial strains are e.g. the species Streptomyces and Bacillus, such as B. subtilis, B. mesentericus, B. hydrolyticus, B. mq-riguchiensis and B. diastaticus, suitable for the production of enzyme preparations which can be used in the dental care products according to the invention. Proteases and/or amylases of Bacillus subtilis are particularly preferred because of their excellent stability in the presence of water.
