Abstract

The proportional flue gas flow control is intended for installation in the flue of a gas-fired heating appliance in order to reduce abnormal heat loss from the appliance and surrounding air due to draught fluctuations. The closure member (8) of the control is exclusively moved by an actuator (10) under the control of a sensor (9) in the down-draught deflector (2). This makes use of the characteristic action of the deflector so that not only the temp. of the flue gas but also its amount affects the control, thus giving continuous correction taking account of the effect of the flue draught.
