Abstract

The sun awning is for mounting on a building facade, having a cloth winding onto a roller, and a beam fixed to the free edge of the cloth. Extension members are fixed at one end to the beam ends, and at the other slide up and down in guides. A rod hinges between each member and the facade. A thruster (10) acts between each bar (9) and the facade (8). The bar length can be roughly half that of the extension member (5) and the thruster can be an air actuated spring. The hinge between bar and member can be formed by a slide (11) movable and lockable in the latter, with a hinge pin coupling it to the bar.
