Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide an optional spring force by varying the width of a flat spring along the length to produce a force which laps the spring around either one of a pair of reels. CONSTITUTION:When a flat spring 1 is moved in the direction of the arrow (A), wide portion 1a of the flat spring 1 is wound on a reel 7 located on the left side, while narrow portion 1e is wound on a reel 6 located on the right side producing a spring force differential between forces applied to right and left reels 6 and 7. Accordingly, the flat spring, i.e. an attachment 8, tends to move leftwards. When this mechanism is applied to a curtain rail device with the attachment 8 fastened to an end of a curtain, the curtain tends to move further in the direction it is pulled so that the curtain is easily and completely opened or closed.
