Abstract
The a.c. voltage divider consists of at least two capacitors connected in series between a primary voltage and a reference voltage. One capacitor serves as a measurement capacitor delivering the secondary measurement voltage. The measurement capacitor (C2) is connected to a variable impedance circuit (S1, RL) and a control device (F1, D, BL) responds to the presence of a d.c. component in the secondary voltage and reduces the circuit impedance when the d.c. component is present, and increases it when it is absent.
