Abstract

In the mfr. of a fusible interlining, the carrier material is passed through an electrical field formed between an open vessel for the adhesive to be applied in particles and electrical conductor. The adhesive is drawn from the vessel by the electrostatic charge on the material to form an adhesive application on one side. The treated material is heated for the applied adhesive particles to be bonded and melted into place. The process allows a fusible interlining to be made from a variety of fabric types and a range of different fibres.
