Abstract

The clamp encloses shuttering used in the manufacture of a concrete column. It comprises four flat bars (1-4) each an eye (7) at one end through which another bar is passed in the transverse direction. At each point where two bars cross a wedge (9) is inserted to clamp them firmly together. The wedges and the bars are in the same plane. Each eye can have an internal surface inclined inwards at its free end, of the same angle or nearly so as the inclined face to the wedge, whichis inserted between this surface and the side of the bar in the eye. The eye can be form by a U-shaped component whose free ends are joined to the bar, or alternatively the end of the bar can be bent over to form the eye.
