Abstract

The clamping arrangement consists of a flat topped clip with an internally grooved member which co-operates with another component with a matching extension with external ribs which interlock with the first member. Each of the clips have plane under surfaces which retain the transverse members which are retained by the inner faces of the clips. The upper clip is typically of aluminium (1) and may cover a joint between two wooden joists (16, 161), the lower clip being of a deformable plastics material (18). In another embodiment of the invention the aluminium component is double ended with similar projections at both ends and may be used to retain wall facing components.
