Abstract

The equipment supplies fluid under pressure to a machine tool such as a press, shear etc. A pump (1) delivers the fluid from a reservoir (2) to a user unit such as a ram (3) and a rotary body acts as an accumulator, there being a motor driving both. A bypass pipe, which can be shut off, is fitted between the pressure side of the pump and the reservoir. The pump can be of the short-stroke plunger type, with small clearance volume, the pressure valve being mechanically opened by the plunger. The accumulator can be an oblong cylindrical body, one of its trunnions driving the plunger direct via an eccentric. The bypass pipe can be shut off by a solenoid-operated valve.
