Abstract

The conveyor moves rectangular objects, such as crates (5) along treatment stations (17, 21, 27). It comprises a transport chair (9) with a number of projections (11) extending into the path (1) for the crates to move them from a loading station (3) past the treatment stations to an unloading station (31). There are guides (15L, 15R) along the path to hold the crates in the correct position. There is a rotation station (21) with a stop (23) to one side of the path which engages one corner of crate as it passes, and the guide (15R) on the other side is concave (25) to permit the crate to rotate as it engages the stop in passing. The loading station is arranged such that a projection (11) always engages an inner forward wall of crate.
