Abstract

In microporous hollow fibres the pores are mutually adjoining and they have a permeability for oxygen gas (O2 gas) of at least 2 x 10<-5> cm<3>, under standard pressure and temperature conditions, per cm<2> of membrane area per second per cm of mercury column transmembrane pressure differential. The fibres consist of polyethylene homopolymers or copolymers or their mixture with other homo- or copolymers and at least one ester, the main part of the fibre being polyethylene. The fibres mentioned can be used as means for altering the concentration of a dissolved substance in an aqueous solution.
