Abstract

The building central heating system incorporates one or more radiators mounted in the various rooms, and a stove connected to a chimney for discharge of the combustion gases. A bypass pipe (17) is connected to the piping of the central heating system, incorporating a heat exchanger mounted in the combustion gas outlet (8) from the stove, a three way valve being provided (17) for shutting the bypass pipe off. The stove can in partic. be of the open-hearth type. By passing water through the heat exchanger, the draught in the chimney can be regulated, even when the stove is not in use.
