There can be a chopper mechanism following the row of rollers, and a driven rake-type pick-up mechanism can also be included, with a conveyor extending close to ground level. The row of rollers can be horizontal or vertical, the pick-up mechanism delivering in the latter case to the top of the row, while the mill is at the outlet from it.
