Abstract

The mechanism is intended for stacking two flat boxes (10, 11) used for fruit, and has projecting vertical corner posts (31-33). It comprises positioning baffles (20-24) to place the two boxes in pre-determined positions and a swivel frame (13) with side guides (28) to grip the box (10) in the first position. Rods (15-19) swivel the frame from a first position, in which it can grip the first box (10), to a second position, in which it holds this box above the second box (11), whereupon this box (10) is moved by rollers (41, 48) so that the posts of the inverted upper box (10) enter the lower box (11) and vice versa.
