Abstract
The bearing has means to allows regulated radial deflections of the running surfaces, using a spring component. The bearing spindle (7) near one mounting end is more elastic than the remainder of the spindle. The spindle can be relieved for part of its length to form a neck, round which an annular chamber is formed accommodating a damping medium (9), typically of elastic compressible solid material in ring form. Alternatively fluid can be used for damping, enclosed in a membrane-type wall with two or more cylindrical sections, one inside the other. Where a solid ring of damping material is used, this can be preloaded in the axial direction.
