Abstract

The inlet and outlet pipe allows rain water to be rapidly absorbed into the ground, the surplus being conveyed away by drains or sewers. It comprises a grating of stepped sloping sections (2), a round corrugated pointed cover with teeth (3) a series of toothed tapering rings (4), and supporting blocks (5) for the rings, in addition to the pipe itself (1). The grating is buried below the turf and above the cover making the turf more porous so that grass grows better. Apart from this there is no tendency to form puddles or ground, and the design allows sports grounds to be played on at all times.
