Abstract

The cutting machine which is for slicing bread and similar material, has a number of knives spaced apart at the desired intervals and with corrugated edges, and reciprocating. Each knife comprises two corrugated blades (13,14) bearing against each other and driven in opposite directions. Their edges can be angled so that when the crests of the corrugations come together they form a V-shaped edge. The distance at which they reciprocate can be roughly the same as the distance between two crests, the crests of one being opposite those of the other in the end position.
