Abstract

The compensating mechanism is for a hand held mixer equipped with a worm screw for driving additional attachments, such as chopping heads. The attachment shaft is driven from a hollow shaft through worm gearing. Firmly fixed to the driving shaft is a torsion spring, preferably of rubber, which is used to store energy. A compensator is also fixed to the hollow shaft. This is a spur gear with elongated slots spaced symmetrically about its centre, and in which are threaded holes used to screw the gear loosely to the worm wheel. All gearing is made from plastic.
