Abstract

Vaccines to prevent respiratory infections esp. in horses contain a killed virus suspension of at least one of reovirus I, II or III in water. The vaccines protect esp. horses against infections by reovirus. They are pref. combined with influenza vaccines A equi-1, A equi-2, rhinopneumonitis- and/or tetanus vaccine. The aq. suspensions are pref. adsorbed on an adsorbent such as Al(OH)3, aluminiumphosphate, alginate, etc. at 1-2 mg/ml, to give increased activity. Dosage is pref. >=109TCID50 (tissue culture infective dose).
