Abstract

An HB-Ag vaccine, freed of its hepatitis infectivity but without having lost its original antigenic activity, is prepared by heating an aqueous solution of HB-Ag-containing plasma protein in the presence of mannitol, sucrose or glucose as stabilizer at 60 to 120 DEG C for a defined time and subsequently removing the stabilizer again.
