Abstract
The volume delivered by the pump supplying the injector is variable, the stroke of a reciprocating thruster body being limited by an adjustable wedge-piece. The latter is spring-loaded against a supporting surface. Typically, the spring can be of the leaf type, coupling the wedge to the actuator. The gradient of the wedge adjusting face can be less than 1:10, typically 1:14. The thruster body can be actuated by a solenoid, and the maximum pump stroke can be between 1.5 and 2mm. The design makes the setting of the wedge-piece much more sensitive and quick to react to variations in engine parameters.
