Abstract

The tool secures two components together by means of a bolt and nut, with predetermined torque and axial loading. A driver is coupled by a detachable piece to one component, and the piece has contact faces preventing it from turning in relation to the component. The driver has a frame with faces working with those on the detachable piece. A head with a main shaft rotates in the frame and is coupled to the nut, having a lever driven by a hydraulic actuator, the pressure in which is adjustable, and which acts against the lever at a safe distance from the shaft. Torque applied to the nut is regulated by the hydraulic pressure, and the detachable piece prevents the frame from turning while the head is running the nut down on the bolt. There is no angular play of the driver in relation to the bolt and nut allowing a speed variation while they are coupled together.
