Abstract
Generator, for prodn. of heat by radio isotopes and its transfer via a 'heat-pipe' to a chamber contg. a heat exchanger, comprises a massive block in which the isotopes and heat pipes are installed, surrounded by a housing with intervening thermal insulation. The housing is connected to the block by gps. of spokes, the material of construction of which has a coeff. of expansion such that at the prevailing high temps. the extension of the spokes corresponds with the expansion of the block.
