Abstract

A split snap-on thrust or stop collar for a well drill pipe or sucker rod has a spring ring embedded in elastomeric material, the ring having a radially-inwardly directed tongue at one end which projects through the elastomeric material and snaps into the other end of the collar when the collar is contracted, the tongue riding along a cylindrical surface on the collar during contraction.
