Abstract

Two separate sets of stirring tools are used each mounted on a separately driven shaft. The tools are interleaved in height and their swept peripheries overlap at will. The speeds of both shafts can be varied independently, either one drive motor with different velocity ratio gearing or separate independently controlled motors being used. A wide variety of drives are proposed and full flexibility of use to suit different products is provided.
