Abstract

The metal nitrate is decomposed in a bed of inert particles, fluidized by part of the nitrous fumes produced. The metal oxide formed is pref. removed from the bed, partic. by the carriages itself. It can also serve as the inert material and be preheated outside the bed by combustion gases before entering the reaction zone. This process has greater heat efficiency than rotating kilns and the product is not diluted with air.
