Description
The invention relates to a method for manufacturing a hatch assembly comprising a frame to be arranged on a substrate, for example a roof, and a hatch pivotable relative to the frame between an open and a closed position.
In particular, the invention relates to a method for manufacturing a hatch assembly in the form of a roof hatch or a roof door, which is intended to provide a user with secure access to horizontal or slightly sloping roofs, in combination with, for example, a ladder , scissor staircase or fixed staircase. The roof hatch can be supplied in a special version, for example fire-resistant and / or explosion-relieving.
Such a method is generally known. In the known method, walls of the frame are mutually welded in a workshop, after which the frame is subsequently mounted on the roof. Finally, the hatch is mounted on the frame.
A drawback of the known method is that in practice it is experienced as cumbersome and therefore also economically unattractive. In particular, welding the frame walls together is seen in practice as time-consuming and labor-intensive.
It is an object of the invention to improve the known method. In particular, it is an object of the invention to provide an efficient method for manufacturing a hatch assembly.
To this end, the method according to the invention of the type mentioned in the preamble has the special feature that several prefabricated individual coupling pieces and several, separate walls are used to form the frame, the coupling pieces being arranged around the walls in each case near corner points of the frame. In other words, as in the prior art, the walls of the frame are not directly welded to each other, but are interconnected via the coupling pieces. The walls of the frame are preferably connected clampingly, that is to say, snappingly or snappingly to the coupling pieces, wherein a detachable connection may be involved. In another preferred variant, the frame walls are glued with the coupling pieces or there is talk of pressing the walls of the frame into the coupling pieces. In yet another preferred variant there is talk of a mechanical connection between the frame walls and the connecting pieces, for example by means of rivets. Naturally, a combination of these connection types is also possible, in which, for example, the walls in the coupling pieces are snapped / clicked and then mechanically secured by a pop rivet.
The connecting pieces and / or the walls are in particular manufactured from a material selected from the group consisting of a metal (in particular aluminum or steel) and a plastic.
In a preferred embodiment of a method according to the invention, the walls are first made to size at an assembly location and then connected to the connecting pieces, the frame thus formed being subsequently transported together with the hatch to an assembly location for mounting on the substrate. In another preferred variant, the walls are first made to size at a mounting location and then connected to the connecting pieces, the frame thus formed then being applied to the substrate. In that case the hatch is finally mounted on the frame.
In a further preferred embodiment of a method according to the invention, the coupling pieces are each formed by a bottom plate, a top plate and a column extending therebetween, the column being provided with coupling profiles which are arranged around facing ends of adjacent walls near corner points of facing walls. interconnect the frame. To this end, the coupling pieces in particular each have one or more stop surface (s), against which the walls are placed to ensure that the frame has a fixed, predetermined length and width. The head ends are thereby in particular pushed into the coupling pieces. In particular, each wall of the frame is formed by an elongated, tubular profile which is adapted to be coupled near end ends of the wall with a corresponding coupling profile of a coupling piece. The tubular profile is thereby preferably clamped on the corresponding coupling profile. The cavity of the tubular profile then forms a thermally insulating air gap.
In a further preferred embodiment of a method according to the invention, in use, the tubular profile is formed by an inward facing inner wall, by an outer facing outer wall, and by a lower wall and an upper wall, the lower wall and the upper wall being continued outwardly for defining a space for applying a thermal insulation material and a roof covering cleaner therein. In particular, the bottom wall or the top wall of the tubular profile, in use, abuts the bottom plate or the top plate of a corresponding coupling profile. This ensures that in practice the insulating material is completely enveloped by the connecting pieces and the frame, whereby heat transfer - via the hatch assembly - between an outside and an inside of a building is prevented. This prevents heat from being lost from the building when an outside temperature is lower than a temperature in the building, or heat enters the building when an outside temperature is higher. Both situations would otherwise be associated with a loss of energy due to additional heating or additional cooling and / or ventilation of the building.
In a further preferred embodiment of a method according to the invention, the top plate comprises at its top a preformed groove which is adapted to receive a sealing strip therein. A free edge of the top plate is preferably converted. A stop surface is hereby formed for a seal, for example a roof covering.
In a further preferred embodiment of a method according to the invention, the projection of the top plate along the column on the bottom plate falls within the contour of the bottom plate. The top plate thereby covers all underlying seams between the coupling piece, the wall and the insulating material in order to make the construction watertight without additional measures, such as gluing or welding. The bottom plate therefore protrudes in the aforementioned projection, so that it can be easily attached to the substrate.
The invention also relates to a coupling piece and a frame adapted for use in a method according to the invention. The coupling piece is preferably manufactured from one piece, for example by injection molding. In another preferred variant, the bottom plate, the top plate and the column of the coupling piece extending therebetween are detachably connected to each other as separate structural parts. This makes it possible to design the bottom plate, the top plate and the column in mutually different colors, which can facilitate the assembly of these parts, and which implies that colors can be varied with an aesthetic purpose.
In a preferred embodiment of a coupling piece according to the invention, the bottom plate comprises a cam directed upwards in use, wherein the top plate comprises a cam directed downwards in use, and wherein the cams of the bottom plate and the top plate are adapted to clamp into the column. to be applied.
The invention will be further elucidated with reference to figures shown in a drawing, wherein - figure 1 shows a hatch assembly in a building according to an embodiment of the invention in perspective; figure 2 represents a coupling piece used in the hatch assembly of figure 1 in perspective and in exploded state; and - figure 3 shows how end faces of walls of a frame used in the hatch assembly of figure 1 are arranged in the coupling piece of figure 2.
Figure 1 shows a hatch assembly 1 with a hatch 2 and a frame 3, the hatch assembly 1 being placed in the roof of a building 6. The hatch 2 can be pivoted between an open and closed position relative to the frame 3 by means of hinges 4, wherein the hatch 2 in Figure 1 is shown in the open position. Figure 1 shows that near the peripheral zone of the hatch 2 two strips 5 are provided, which strips 5 are preferably made of plastic or rubber (for example a thermoplastic rubber). These strips 5 insulate the hatch 2 in the closed position of the frame 3, as a result of which no heat transport can take place from the hatch 2 to the frame 3. Furthermore, as also appears from figure 2, the presence of strips 5 prevents air from outside the building 6 is transported through a possible space between the hatch 2 and the frame 3 to the inside of the building 6 and / or vice versa.
In figuur 2 is weergeven een geprefabriceerd, kunststof koppelstuk 7 overeenkomstig de uitvinding voor het vormen van het frame 3.Figure 2 shows a prefabricated plastic coupling piece 7 according to the invention for forming the frame 3.
The coupling piece 7 consists of a bottom plate 8, a top plate 9 and a hollow column 10 extending therebetween, to be fixed on a substrate such as a roof, all of which are detachably connected to each other as separate structural parts. As shown, the bottom plate 8 has a cam 11 directed upwards in use, while the top plate 9 has a cam 12 directed downwards in use. The cams 11, 12 of the bottom plate 8 and the top plate 9 are adapted to be clamped into the cavity of the column 10. As shown, the top plate 9 has on its upper side a preformed groove 13 for receiving a sealing strip therein. Furthermore, a free edge 14 of the top plate 9 has been converted in order to be able to function as a stop for a roof covering 22. The projection of the top plate 9 along the column 10 onto the bottom plate 8 falls within the contour of the bottom plate 8, so that projecting parts of the bottom plate 8 can be easily attached to the roof.
The tubular profile 15 is clamped with its ends at corresponding coupling profiles 16 of the coupling piece 7 of figure 2. As shown, the tubular profile 15 consists of an inner wall 17 (in use facing inwards), an outer wall 18 (facing outwards in use), and of a bottom wall 19 and a top wall 20. The bottom wall 19 and the top wall 20 extend to externally by defining a space 21 for fitting a thermal insulation material 23. As indicated, the bottom wall 19 or the top wall 20 of the tubular profile 15, in use, abuts the bottom plate 8 or the top plate 9 of the coupling piece 7.
The invention is not limited to the drawn embodiment, but also extends to other preferred variants that fall within the scope of the appended claims.
