Description
Segment carriers for containers of segment construction for tyre moulding.
Technology field
The invention applies to the segment carriers for containers of segment construction for tyre moulding with exchangeable attachment plates facilitating repair of jammed or damaged T-grooves made in these carriers.
Current state of the art
Tyres of radial structure are moulded in vulcanization segmented containers. This container mostly consists of a conical ring, spacing ring, segment carriers, the upper plate and bottom plate of the container. The spacing ring and conical ring assembled in one unit are fixed to the upper plate of the double-action press, the upper plate, in conjunction with segment carriers, is fixed to the ram of the central press piston. Only the bottom container plate is fixed to the bottom press plate. The carriers of mould segments move in the container by means of T-grooves, milled in the segment carrier, and T-guideways which are parts of the conical ring. When the press is being closed, the segment carriers are also closed through the taper-shaped conical ring making the segment carriers move radially in the container upper plate grooves. It also sets the carriers into combined radial and axial movement towards the inside by means of T-grooves and T-guideways in the conical ring. The movement ends after reaching the end position of the press plate and after locking it into position. When the tyre casing is being closed, the grooves of the T-guideways are often stressed laterally. Also, the circumferential movement of segment carriers can occur in some directional tread patterns in the direction of mould rotation and/or tyre casing. This results in jamming and excessive wear of carrier grooves of T-guideways. The known construction of T-grooves is represented in Fig. 3 and 4.
When the container is being opened, the upper press plate moves upwards, the segment carriers must overcome adhesive forces of the tyre casing compound, which is set in a vulcanized state in the segments of the tyre moulding mould.
The tyre casing is also often ripped out of the tread pattern in the mould segments when it is being opened, with the carriers not longer being in contact with the bottom container plate and the segments typically fall, resulting in excessive stress and gradual jamming and deforming of T-grooves milled in the carriers. The damaged T-grooves must be repaired by milling the whole block away, then new steel blocks are inserted into the milled block with grooves, and a new T-groove is milled into the blocks. This method of repairs necessitates sending the container to a repair shop and it often takes three to four weeks to repair it, and the repair may be very expensive .
The basis of the technical design
The current disadvantages of repairing any damaged segment carrier grooves can be removed by the segment carrier designed for containers pursuant to this invention. The essence of the invention consists of the fact that a groove is made in the segment carrier body in which two detachable attachment plates are mounted, that form a T-groove.
The advantage of this invention is that any damaged attachment plate can be easily replaced by new one, without having to take the container out of production. The attachment plates are designed as standard exchangeables and are delivered at customer's request. Repair of the container, and thereby its commissioning, takes 3-4 hours, which substantially lowers repair costs.
Overview of the figures in the drawings
The invention will be explained in detail by means of figures which show:
Fig. 1 - represents a view of an opened container of segment construction
Fig. 2 - represents a view of a closed container
Fig. 3 and 4 - represent a view of T-grooves of segment carrier of the known design, with the T-groove being milled directly in the carrier body
Fig. 5 - represents a view of the new design of segment carriers in accordance with the technical solution
Fig. 6 - represents a top view of the new design of seg ment carriers in accordance with the technical solution
Description of the exemplary embodiment
The container 1_0 of segment construction for tyre moulding in accordance with Fig. 1 consists of a conical ring 2, spacing ring 1, segment carriers _3, upper plate 4_ and bottom plate .5 of the container plate. The spacing ring 1 and one conical ring 2_ attached to it, are fixed to the plate of a double-action press not shown in the figures. The upper plate _4 of the container 10, in conjunction with segment carriers _3, is attached to the ram of a central press piston not shown in the figures. The bottom plate .5 of container 1_0 is attached to the bottom plate of the press not shown in the figures. Segment carriers for tyre moulding move in the container by means of T-grooves 8_, into which T-guideways fit, which parts of the conical ring 2. These T-grooves _8 are made in the body 31 of the segment carrier _3 in such manner that a groove 6 is formed in the body 3JL, into this groove two L-shaped attachment plates 1_ are inserted and mechanically fixed, which form a T-shape groove Q (Fig. 5, 6) . Attachments plates 1_ are fixed to the groove 6 by connecting elements, eg. bolts, which means that if the attachment plates 1_ are mechanically damaged, they can be easily replaced by new ones. Depending on the type of the container, one container can have up to eleven segment carriers 3, i.e. eleven T-grooves 8_ with mounted attachment plates 1_. Labour-saving in conjunction with the exchange of said attachment plates 1_, provided they are damaged, is considerable .
