Abstract
The present invention provides an apparatus for automatically sorting, counting and marking oil palm seeds, the apparatus including at least one scanner (1) to scan and identify a fresh fruit bunch (FFB) identification (ID) number, at least one hopper (4) to hold the oil palm seeds, an elevator and conveyor feeder (5), a conveyor system (6), a pick and place station (7), a vision inspection system (8), at least one laser marker (10), at least one counting gate (13), at least one opening (chute) (14) and at least one container (15), whereby the oil palm seeds are transported from the at least one hopper (4) to the pick and place station (7) by means of the elevator and conveyor feeder (5), images of the oil palm seeds are captured by the vision inspection unit (8) by means of the at least one imaging device (9) to identify, classify and sort the oil palm seeds into at least one category, the oil palm seeds are printed with the FFB ID number using the at least one laser marker (10), the number of oil palm seeds are calculated by the at least one counting gate (13) when the oil palm seeds fall through the at least one opening (chute) (14) due to gravity force into the at least one container (15).
