Abstract

An aluminum alloy sheet for magnetic discs, an aluminum alloy blank for magnetic discs, and an aluminum alloy substrate for magnetic discs having high ratio of Young's modulus to density and excellent proof stress and flatness are provided. The aluminum alloy sheet for magnetic discs, the blank and the substrate contains: Mg: 1.0 mass% or more and 6.5 mass% or less; Cr: 0.10 mass% or more and 0.30 mass% or less; Si: 0.20 mass% or less; Cu: 1.00 mass% or less; and one or more of Fe: 1.70 mass% or less, Mn: 1.5 mass% or less and Ni: 2.7 mass% or less, with the remainder being Al and impurities. The total of the contents of Fe, Mn and Ni is 0.3 mass% or more and 4.5 mass% or less.
