Abstract
An object of the present invention is to provide a culture method capable of efficiently growing microalgae by using POME discharged from the palm oil production process and a method for efficiently producing valuables with high additional benefits from microalgae. Through the culture of heterotrophic microalgae which produce ?-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid(s) such as DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) by using POME, these heterotrophic microalgae can be efficiently grown and DHA can be produced at a high concentration.
