Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for recovering rubber from skim latex resulting from concentrating a natural rubber latex by separating the natural rubber latex into rubber latex and skim latex, the method comprising pre-treating the skim latex to obtain a pretreated skim latex, passing the pretreated skim latex through a membrane module repeatedly with addition of ammonium laureate at intervals to obtain a retentate and a permeate, passing the retentate through a second membrane module repeatedly with addition of ammonium laureate at intervals to obtain a second retentate and a second permeate, blending the second retentate with a fresh field latex in a ratio of 1 :9 to obtain a blended retentate, centrifuging the blended retentate to obtain a latex concentrate, blending the latex concentrate with a fresh latex concentrate to obtain a blended latex concentrate and treating the blended latex concentrate with ammonia to obtain the final latex concentrate.
