Abstract

A biomass production method includes: a step (steaming step S110) including steaming a raw material by supplying steam to the raw material (oil palm); a germinating step (cooling step for germination S140, germination-condition maintaining step S150) of creating and maintaining a predetermined condition required for germinating a spore of a microorganism attached to the biomass, by cooling the biomass (empty fruit bunch) obtained by performing the step including steaming; and a step (sterilizing step S160) of creating and maintaining a predetermined condition required for killing the microorganism, by heating the empty fruit bunches having the germinated microorganism attached thereto.
