Abstract

A PULL-ON ABSORBENT ARTICLE (1) INCLUDES A FRONT PANEL (2), A REAR PANEL (3), AND AN ABSORBENT ASSEMBLY (4) (4) THAT INCLUDES AN ABSORBENT CORE (5). BOTH LATERAL SIDE EDGES OF BOTH THE PANELS (2, 3) ARE JOINED TO EACH OTHER TO FORM A PAIR OF SIDE SEALS (S, S). A PORTION BETWEEN BOTH THE PANELS (2, 3) FORMS A CROTCH PORTION (C). THE ABSORBENT CORE (5) FORMS A NECKED PORTION (5C) AT THE MIDDLE PORTION THEREOF IN A LONGITUDINAL DIRECTION. EACH OF THE FRONT PANELS (2) AND THE REAR PANELS (3) INCLUDES ELASTIC MEMBERS (7) THAT ARE DISPOSED IN A STRETCHED STATE IN A WIDTH DIRECTION. THE NECKED PORTION (5C) INCLUDES A FRONT NECKED PORTION (5F) OVERLAPPING THE FRONT PANEL (2) AND DOES NOT OVERLAP THE REAR PANEL (3). THE ELASTIC MEMBERS (7) DO NOT SUBSTANTIALLY OVERLAP THE ABSORBENT CORE (5). THE FRONT PANEL (2) INCLUDES EXTENDED ELASTIC MEMBERS (7Q) THAT ARE DISPOSED ON BOTH SIDES OF THE FRONT NECKED PORTION (5F) AND EXTEND FROM UPPER ENDS OF LATERAL SIDE EDGES OF THE NECKED PORTION (5C) TOWARD INSIDE ALONG THE WIDTH DIRECTION.
